The band is always keen to hear from brass, woodwind and percussion players, including buglers/drummers for our Corps of Drums. If you'd like to know more please get in touch or speak to us at one of our engagements.
Our band members are from all walks of life - you do not need to be a member of the Fire Service to join. We simply share a keen interest in music and join the band for the fantastic opportunities and experiences it can bring including regular concerts, marching engagements and tours abroad.

How to join
You are very welcome to attend one of our Monday evening rehearsals at Stanningley Fire Station starting at 7.30pm. It's a great chance to meet everyone and see what it's all about.
Please email our Band Manager George, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more details about how to find the band room.
There's then a straight forward induction process for new members alongside an opportunity to chat with us about any questions you may have. If you're returning to playing after a break then that's fine; you're always welcome at our rehearsals until you're feeling ready to join. Musically we look for grade 6 standard or equivalent before joining us on engagements.
All uniform is provided along with marching tuition - prior marching experience is not required and you won't be dropped in at the deep end! Our marching practices take place on Monday evenings (weather permitting) as part of the regular rehearsals.
